Tough Debut...
LeBron James couldn't solve San Antonio's stifling defense and the pick-and-rolling Spurs, as fundamental and selfless as ever, outclassed Cleveland in Game 1 on Thursday.
James' 4-for-16 with 14 point night was far from the only ugly mark in the Cavs' portion of the box score. Zydrunas Ilgauskas was 1-of-8, Larry Hughes was 1-for-5, and Cleveland was shooting under 40 percent deep into the game. Add those numbers up, and it was an NBA finals debut to forget for the Cavs.
This was not the series opener James had hoped for. His first foray into the finals was hyped in the days leading up to the game as many wondered if he could deliver the way Michael Jordan once did. But James came nowhere nearing matching Jordan's first game in the finals when he scorched the Los Angeles Lakers for 36 points on June 2, 1991.
After the tough loss, will they bounce back and split the series? Or will Bruce Bowen ground Cleveland's soaring superstar again? Game 2 is Sunday night.

This Week: Hansel Wei on What You'll Encounter. Read the whole article in Hansel's Zone at GoSportsBet.
The point spread is a handicap given to the favorite in terms of points. The favorite is followed by (-points), and the underdog is followed by (+points). For instance, if a betting line reads New England Patriots -9.5 vs. San Diego Chargers +9.5, this means
that the oddsmakers felt that in the eyes of the betting public, the Patriots are 9.5 points better than the Chargers. If in this situation you bet on the Patriots, they must win the game by more than 9.5 points (ie, at least 10) in order for you to collect. If the Patriots either win by less than 9.5 points or lose outright, this means a loss for a Patriots point spread bettor.
On the other hand, if you bet the underdog Chargers, you essentially spot the Chargers 9.5 points. If the Chargers end up winning the game or losing by less than 9.5 points (nine points or less), you win your bet. Lines of half-points are given in part so the game cannot land exactly on the point spread, resulting in a 'push' or tie, where neither the bettor nor the bookmaker would win. It is important to note that the line is not designed to show which team is favored and how much they should win by. The line is meant to make each team equally attractive to the betting public. No matter how great the mismatch, the point spread at least in theory makes both teams equally 'bettable' that is, when factoring in the handicap, equal numbers of people will want to put their money on each team. It should be emphasized that the first line released by the Las Vegas Sports Consultants is by no
means the only line or the final line on a game. Lines fluctuate depending on how much betting takes place on either team. If, in the example above, the Patriots opened at -9.5...

This Week: Battle Royale
Battle Royale is a fun and simple game based on the children's game War. Once the ante has been placed, you and the dealer each receive one card face-up. The higher card drawn wins the "battle" and if you win, you double your money. If your card is lower than the dealer's you lose your ante.
In the event of a tie, you can choose to surrender and lose your ante or to "Go to Battle". The battle commences: you place a bet equal to your ante and each combatant receives an additional card. If you win, you receive both bets back and win the value of your original ante. You do not receive any extra winnings for the additional bet. If you are beaten, you lose both the original ante and the second bet. A big win is achieved when the second set of two cards also results in a tie. You then receive a 3:1 pay out on all the bets placed.

TriviaTime Answer:
B) Cleveland Browns - This was a shocker to NFL fans, as they were positive that the Browns would take Brady Quinn. In 2006, the Browns' quarterbacks totaled a TD/INT ratio of 15-25 combined. The team sought and was in dire need of pass protection, which was the reason for their selection. Thomas played college at Wisconsin.
