Who's Going to Be The Best in the West?
Better yet, which teams are going to win the right to play for that title in the Western Conference Finals in the NBA?
Currently we've got two great series heating up, with the Suns and the Spurs ready to do battle in what promises to be an epic Game 3 in San Antonio, and Golden State is ready to continue their comeback against Utah. Look for Tony Parker to burst out of his mini-slump in a big way and push the tempo. We're expecting a barn-burner in the Alamo, and the Spurs will be motivated by their hometown crowd.
The series between the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors is certainly an odd second round matchup. It's amazing that one of these teams is going to be on series away from the Finals. And it's certainly inspiring to see the Warriors so close here, even if the two teams seem dramatically different than one another.

This Week: Hansel Wei on Parlays. Read the whole article in Hansel's Zone at GoSportsBet.
Parlays can be one of the most lucrative payouts in sports wagering, but they can be one of the most frustrating losses too when they narrowly miss. Let’s review the basic idea of a parlay: the player bets on the outcome of two or more games, and as the number of teams he picks goes up, so do the odds at which he is paid out. The teams can span a variety of sports and the events wagered on can take place on different days. GoSportsBet and other books tend to offer everything from 2- to 12-team parlays, and the more teams you pick, the greater your potential payouts. However, the catch is that if even one of your teams loses, the whole parlay is a loss. Many bettors choose to play a weekly parlay at a low bet. Like a lottery ticket, many people feel it is worth spending a tiny amount in order to give themselves a chance at a big payout; unlike a lottery, though, in the case of parlays the player feels that there is more to picking the winning combination than just luck. GoSportsBet’s minimum bet is one dollar for a 12-team parlay, and many bettors take advantage of this each week. The odds of getting 10 or 11 of your picks correct in a 12-team parlay are naturally much higher than the odds of recording a perfect score. With that in mind, many books including GoSportsBet have started offering “progressive” parlays. These bets essentially give you insurance, so that if you miss one or two picks, your card is still a winner. For instance: a GoSportsBet regular 12-team parlay pays 1,800 to 1 odds if all 12 picks win. A 12-team progressive parlay pays 900 to 1, but if 3 teams out of 12 lose, the player is still paid out at 3 to 1 odds. If you’re essentially resigned to losing your bet, but want a slim shot at a huge payday, the regular parlay is the way to go. If you’re pretty confident about most but not all of your picks, and want to give...

This Week: Bermuda Poker
Bermuda Poker pits your 5-card poker hand against the dealer's, but it adds a couple of twists to provide a strategic element.
After placing the ante, you are dealt 5 cards face up, while the dealer receives 5 cards, with one showing. You must then decide whether to bet or fold. Folding forfeits the hand and the ante is lost. If you decide to bet, twice the amount of the ante is added to the pile and the dealer's cards are displayed.
In order for the bet to continue, the dealer's hand must contain at least an Ace-King to qualify. If the hand does not qualify, your bet and ante are returned and you win an amount equal to the ante. If the dealer's hand does qualify and your hand beats it, the your ante is returned and your bet is paid out according to the value of the hand. If the dealer's hand wins you lose the ante and the bet.
A winning hand pays out according to these odds:
Royal Flush: 100 to 1
Straight flush: 50 to 1
Four of a kind: 20 to 1
Full house: 7 to 1
Flush: 5 to 1
Straight: 4 to 1
Three of a kind: 3 to 1
Two pair: 2 to 1
Pair or A-K: 1 to 1
