So, as you may have heard, the Colts are 8-0 for the second year in a row. As the NFL’s last unbeaten team, the talk has started (again) about whether they’ll be the ones to unseat the ‘72 Dolphins as the most recent unbeaten squad. Also, the fact that Tony Dungy’s been known to rest his starters during the last few games has many people thinking that one or two losses are inevitable.
However, there are a few reasons why this might be the year. The last two weeks have established Indy as the best team in the NFL - and it’s not even close. They went to Denver and hung 34 points on the league’s best D. Then they headed to Foxboro and dismantled the Pats at home, 27-20. According to Dungy, they still aren’t playing their best football. Scary thing is, I believe him. I also believe that he won’t rest until he’s convinced his boys will be playing good football in the postseason.
Here’s another thing to consider: The Colts are done the hardest part of their season. They play *one* team with a winning record in their next eight games, and that’s the Jags - hardly #1 on anyone’s list of threats to the Colts. Here’s their remaining schedule: Buffalo this week (gimme), Dallas the next week (could be tough), then Philadelphia, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Houston, and - intriguingly - Miami.
The Colts should by no means order champagne yet. But, on paper, they’ve got a better chance than any other team in recent memory. At GoSportsBet, we can help you take part in the whole ride. Obviously we’ve got lines on all this weekend’s games, but we’ve also got Week 11 lines (Indy -2 @ Dallas), as well as other NFL props and futures.
